party in the woods

photos by isla!

dress  vintage
shoes  vintage ferragamo

Remember the ridiculous little girl's party dress that I mentioned I wore (months ago) on my birthday? Probably not, but this is it. Made for someone much younger and slightly flatter, but I love it so much anyways. The skirt has a built-in petticoat for extra flounce, something all full skirted dresses would have in a perfect world. I wore it to frolic around in the woods for a photo shoot I did with Isla that I'm very excited about (but can't share until next month). These photos were something extra we shot at the end of the day because we couldn't resist the pretty location. I can hardly wait to share the rest of the photo shoot with you, there were some magic moments!

a vintage pop-up

I'm so very excited for the upcoming Golden Collective Vintage Pop-Up, although sad that it will be my last sale with these wonderful ladies. There will be seven vintage vendors, lots of champagne, and special guest Tabbisocks. I will be bringing a lot of vintage with me because moving across the country means editing my closets down. So expect some treasures at very good prices!

peter pan syndrome

cardigan  vintage

shoes  vintage ferragamo

I am spending my last month in San Francisco doing as many fun things as possible, eating at all the restaurants I always wanted to try, and hugging all of my friends much longer than necessary. One thing I'm trying to avoid, however, is adding more things to my wardrobe. But there was no way I could resist buying this little dress, seeing as how I'm such a sucker for a Peter Pan collar. Ah well, what's the harm in one more dress?

leaving my heart in san francisco

So, I have some rather crazy news.

I'm leaving San Francisco at the end of July and moving to Philadelphia.

Absurd, right? That's what I thought six months ago when I was approached by Anthropologie about a possible position at their headquarters. I've always loved Anthropologie, ever since I first got my hands on one of their impossibly pretty catalogs when I was a yearning teenager, and I was incredibly flattered that they liked Fancy Fine enough to reach out. But it didn't occur to me at first that I could ever leave this city, my beautiful home, and move across the country for a career. Until it did occur to me, and I accepted the position of Web Visual Experience Manager after visiting the headquarters and falling in love and seeing a place for myself there. How could I say no to that kind of adventure?

I have lived in San Francisco for a decade now, after moving here aged eighteen to attend the San Francisco Art Institute and carve a little corner for myself in the city of my dreams. I have met many wonderful, silly, talented and loving people who I am proud to call my friends. My heart breaks a little bit more every time I think about not being here anymore. I will be leaving behind my handsome man, my family, my friends, and my sweet mint green bedroom... an entire life that I have spent years building.

But I think I'm ready. I am beyond excited about the opportunity to work for a company with such a strong identity. I'm excited to actually begin my career and be part of a team, something I have been lacking while being my own boss. I'm excited to explore a city that is entirely new to me. San Francisco had me for ten years, and now it's Philly's turn for a bit of karaoke-singing, vintage-wearing fanciness.

Cross your fingers for me!

moonstone magic

hat  vintage from bohemian bisoux
cardigan  vintage
brooch  vintage
necklace  thrifted
clutch  vintage
socks  c/o tabbisocks
shoes  vintage from a fine day for sailing

When I first started perusing style blogs a few years back one of my instant favorites was Clever Nettle. Anja is simply one of the coolest ladies out there, and I'm beyond happy that she shares her endless awesomeness with the internet on a regular basis. It goes without saying that I was super excited when I discovered she had launched her own line, ANN-YA, and it's every bit as cool as the lady herself. I was lucky enough to make the Moonstone Dress my very own and I can tell you that it's hands down the most comfortable dress in my wardrobe... and you know how many dresses I have, so I don't say that lightly! It's also the perfect canvas for accessorizing (or, um, over-accessorizing) however I please. I think I'm going to have many fun adventures in this dress.

the biggest little city

This is the last round of Reno photos, and what a round! No commentary necessary, although I should mention that most of these photos were taken at an amazing shop called Junkee (part antique store, part vintage clothing store) and if you ever find yourself in Reno you must go there. The end.
